Enbridge – Griffith Pump Station
Project Type: Pump Station
Cost: $25 Million
Services Provided: Piping, Fabrication, Testing, Restoration
Roberts was hired by Enbridge to build a large pumping station that included four 5,000 HP motors and pumps. Roberts managed the sizable project, which included hundreds of thousands of subcontractor man hours completing civil grade work, structural concrete and electrical. Roberts self-performed all of the mechanical work, including pipe fabrication, pipe assembly and installation, hydrostatic testing, and pump and motor setting and alignment.
Challenges included managing an average of 100 employees daily on the small site. Additionally, the customer had difficulty in procuring a 42” launcher/receiver trap in time for commissioning. Roberts was able to step in and build the launcher/receiver allowing the customer to meet their proposed commissioning date.
